Szczyrk

Szczyrk

Szczyrk is a small town in Beskid Śląski, in the Żylica River valley with about 6,000 inhabitants.

Szczyrk is first and foremost a winter sports centre, well-known in Poland with its over 60 ski runs and 30 ski lifts attracting visitors from all over the country. The town also has an Olympic Training Centre for skiers, ski jumpers and skaters.
Towering over the town are two mountains, Skrzyczne (1,257 m) and Klimczok (1,117 m). Both offer a breathtaking view of the Żylica Valley, Szczyrk, Bielsk-Biała, Żywieckie Lake and the entire neighbourhood. If the weather is good, you can see as far as the Tatra Mountains.

During the summer, Szczyrk is a great starting point for outings to the mountains, and Skrzyczne Mountain becomes a paragliders’ and mountain bikers’ paradise.

Whatever the season, Szczyrk gives you the opportunity to become acquainted with this region’s unique and interesting culture, as well as its cuisine of course.
